Kostas Stathis studies the development of autonomous systems with cognitive and social capabilities with the twin goals of understanding human intelligence in symbolic computational terms and to develop applications that support what people do in their everyday activities. His work focuses on the use of computational logic to explain how an autonomous agent can represent the environment in which it is situated and how multiple agents can be deployed over distributed networks to interact with other agents by inhabiting electronic environments and accessing physical worlds. Onofrio Gigliotta is a researcher at the Department of Humanistic Studies of the University of Naples “Federico II”. His main research is focused on Bioinspired Artificial Intelligence, Evolutionary Robotics and their applications. He collaborates with the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies (ISTC-CNR, Rome) in developing robot/agent simulators to be used both in basic and in applied research. He is author of international scientific publications and has participated to many National and European Projects.
